Month Three in Argentina - Mes Tres en Argentina

We are now beginning to settle into somewhat of a routine here in Argentina. On weekdays Jessica takes Israel to his pre-school bright (well actually the sun isn't up yet) and early. They catch the bus and then she returns home for breakfast. Then Wilmar, Jessica, and Caleb head over to the office for a short devotional time with the other members of the office staff here in the Regional Offices. Jessica usually stays in the office to work with the Child Sponsorship Program. Wilmar's tasks are more varied. Right now he is working with the Area Coordinator to get some construction materials ready for a remodel at the seminary. Lately Wilmar has also been working at the Moreno Centro church (which is where we attend church) helping to do some repairs in the sanctuary.

Wilmar has also started working with the Jesus Film. He will be attending different cell groups during the week. He will present the film in 16 parts (16 weeks), and then there are discipleship materials that correspond to that part of the showing. The goal here is to invite new people to the cell group and develop a deeper level in their Christian walk.


Closer to lunch time Jessica heads home to prepare lunch and Wilmar goes to pick up Israel from school. The rest of the day is spent taking care of whatever comes up that needs to be taken care of or do whatever they tell us to do!


On the weekends Wilmar has practice with the worship team on Saturday afternoons, which is followed by a weekly Bible study (which also serves as a time of leadership training) with the leaders. On Sundays we go early for practice again and then have church service, which is followed by Sunday School. Wilmar is teaching the youth Sunday School class, also.

Hemos comenzado a establecer lo que podemos llamar una rutina acá en la Argentina. En los días laborales Jessica lleva a Israel al Jardín de niños muy temprano en la mañana. De regreso toma el bus y come su desayuno. Para luego dirigirse con el resto de la familia a corto devocional en la oficina con los miembros del equipo de la Región. Usualmente Jessica permanece en la oficina trabajando con el programa Plan Padrinos. El trabajo de Wilmar es un poco más variado. Por ahora está trabajando con el Coordinador de Área en la cotización de materiales para la remodelación de las oficinas del Cono Sur. También ha estado involucrado en hacer reparaciones en las instalaciones de la iglesia de Moreno Centro, donde también nos congregamos.

Wilmar también ha empezado a trabajar en las células de la iglesia con la película Jesús. Muestra un segmento de la película (son 16 segmentos, 16 semanas) y después hay material de discipulado que tiene que ver con el segmento. La meta es invitar a nuevas personas y consolidar el grupo.

Cerca del almuerzo Jessica va a casa a preparar la comida y Wilmar se va a recoger a Israel del Jardín. Por las tardes nos involucramos en diferentes tareas que se nos encomienden.

Los fines de semana Wilmar practica con el grupo de alabanza, esto el sábado por la tarde. Seguido a esto participa en la reunión de un estudio bíblico con los líderes de la iglesia. Los domingos nos levantamos muy temprano para practicar una vez más antes del servicio. Wilmar es maestro de la clase de jóvenes.
